Piano in a majestic hall

This piece sounds like it is being played in a theatre. Very relaxing and the change of keys really adds to it. The excess of revorb acctually gives this piece a real life feel.
it was missing something i cant put my finger on ....it really is a well rhythmically written piece. the piano line keeps it a constant mellow drama pice of sorts. The separate melodies keep it going nicely...

I know what it is.. a Rhythm line key change.. bring the background piano down a full half step.. that will def add a new bridge to the sonata. Its seems like it is leading to tragic part but never goes to it.. It completely envelopes deep into sadness .. it needs a little resolute anger.

love this.. very reflective and relaxing

I appreciate the advice Symbol ^ ^. The suggestions you made are good ones that I will take into consideration. As an explanation of why it seems quite mellow and sad is to contrast that even in Death, a reaper can still have human emotions because they once were human. Though this is kinda revealing, its as if a reaper who has just died goes into a dream state, and this is the song they hear. Thanks for the review! - Ji

Im not crazy. But lunatics will like this

i must be a lunatic. The chord progression in this is effin magical. great way to progress the song. At 1;20 im glad you brought it back and introduced some light bleeps and layered then all nicely.at 2:00 great bridge into a breakdown.

this is a great 8 bit pice with some not so 8 bit drums. LOL It just keeps driving higher and higher. This has some great buildups. And the distorted guitar it sounded like was a great addition. you get a 9 and not a ten cause i would have liked to see it go to a minor key at some point i think at 1:30 would have been a good place to go minor and then blast it back into major. seriously awesome!!!

FILTHY DIRTY NASTY

I fucking love it. This track is so dirty it probably has VD.
At first i thought this was just going to be some sounds from Left4dead but to my surprise you composed something that completely took hold of the panicky mood involved when your playing Left4dead on expert and a hunter jumps on you and your all alone, screaming into the mic. FUCkING HUNTER GOT ME GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE> HELP!!.

really love the samples from the game.. they were used perfectly for the song.
The intro was dark as hell, foreboding and ultra creepy. I LOVE when it kicks in at 1:10. The kickin smash back in at 2:10 is also trashy and well placed.Seriously awesome job man ... fuckin A+ dude

Masque of the Red Death

Ever read that story by poe.
Totally reminds me of that.Sort of like the silly harbinger of death drunkenly dancing around with his scepter of pain and tragedy mockingly dancing with all the ladies making them laugh until he removes his ballroom mask. i love the violin work you did, it sounds completely real and its very well executed as a lead line. VERY Gypsy! The breathe at the beginning works wonderfully.
And the little glockenspiel with little barely noticeable dissonant notes made this a happy nightmarish waltz. Also LOVE the womans voice. I wish I had a corpse to dance around the room with.
great work!!!!

percusive madness

love the psy trance ghost effects, and the idm sounding wak. koo. sound. the drums are perfect. i also love your lead ins ever few measures. very well calculated and executed. the strings totally give this more than an amped feel to it and give it quite the personality of vanity and drama. My fav part is at 225.. love the breakdown into the buildup and the synth that takes the violin line...
just wanna let you know i play this song alot around the house and very very much enjoy it. the ending fading lead line is a perfect ending.

cycerin responds:

Thanks man! I somehow missed this great review until now. Dig that you liked the synth that overlays the violin melody towards the end, I've been kinda worrying it might sound a bit cheesy.

my fav from castle crashers

whenever i play i always turn the effects down and the music UP... Seriously this is my favorite next to vain star and paragons chaoz japan.
you know how awesome it is?...right?.. well i do. Must have been such a great feeling of accomplishment when you finished this. very much well deserved. i always play this one for my band-mates .. they love the shit out of it.
Awesome work... i really think you should go back into this genre .. your newer stuff is just as awesome but i feel this is your genre.
best wishes and luck, with a touch of talent.

cycerin responds:

Hey, thanks. The reason I stay out of this genre is because I feel that 4 on the floor is a very limiting beat, so it's hard to get a good project going with it for me. :\

Naaaaaat bad

i liked the use of chimes.. i recenlty have just been jamming with chimes so i completely understand the need to relax melodiclly...

AMEN breaks .. i always love them.. but they need to be chopped up in a fashion that complements the listeners ear.. If amen isnt nuts then its not too entertaining..

Melody and ambience are the stars that have given.. to combine them with amen.. i would suggest something of a more dominant sound but with melow pitch.. thew chimes dont quite do it.. if you convert this beat to dub and make it simpler i think it would complement you melody much more..

Dont get me wrong the drums are sick as fuck but they dont mesh well with the chimes.
Both independantly are sweet and soothing and electrifying .. but the median has been broken on this one.

Very much enjoyed

Triskele responds:

Thanks for the review <3

I was really working to combine the drums and the chimes, but not to blend them. I really was going for a bit of discord between the two, so I'm glad I succeeded in that. Sorry that it didn't suit your ear though >:

By the way, full on ragga mashup tune is about 50% done atm. Look out for it in a couple of days :3

I'll hit you back

WELCOME TO NEWGROUNDS

Sweet song. i played it like thrreeeeeeee times and the melody is stuck in my head.
Kinda like fluying above the clouds in a really airship. love the bridge and the trance organ at around 240. serious club banger. needs a lil more boom though. like base.. definitly fav this one.LOVE the fact you went half step up at around 340. keep it up and i cant wait to hear more from you.

Complete and Serene

Seriously love this one. You always show how you can change your way of composing and using different types of percusive elements. Love the chime piano and the flow of it.. very relaxing yet inspiring. I just got the game mirrors edge and this fits in nicely with a rooftop view of the city skyline.
Sounds determined yet relaxed and somber. great mood porttrayal in this piece man.
I think you should make one that loops, or even continue it a lil bit more though.
LOL you always put out these tiny little gems of brilliance..
More martin i want more

vai90 responds:

And more is what you shall get. ;D

Glad to hear you got Mirror's Edge, it's a great game.
Thx for the kind review!

OSCAR THE GROUCH ON CRACK

i like what you are doing .. very hardcore industrial.. very abbrasive,
just one of the sounds was a lil too trebly.. Dont get me wrong i love trashy sounds. kinda sounds like a horror movie when a cyborg is on the loose killing maiming destroying flaying crushing blowing shit up.

I LOVE THE BEAT! kinda like if i took hammers to my drumset abnd replaced the skins with copper sheats.
very creative .. BUT you dont get a ten because of the mix... to loud and trebly.
A nice west coast boom bass would be a nice addition after remixing it.

Pissomatik responds:

Thanks for the compliment. ( x ) :x R. I love Oscar the Grouch and sho do luh me some crizack too. Hmmm...it's funny you mention a cyborg on the loose. Thinking about it, I could totally see that. Maybe I'll try to make a flash video to go with it about a killer cyborg. Heh heh.
OMGGGGGG......I just fucking saw that shit in my head and wish to god we had way to instantly project our visions onto video.
Intro: A man is on a gurney getting surgury from some fuckt up looking scientist then when the drumz and bass kick in you see the cyborg rais up and start pulling all the monitors off, then when that main riff hits, he fucking kills the scientist.
As it progresses you see the syborg killing and maiming during the upbeat part and then when it get's to the softer part he's holding a body on his lap crying. (it's raining).
Then it ends with him losing his mind and he starts attacking himself and ripping out all of the cybernetics and killing himself by literally ripping his own body apart. (Camera from above his body is laying there, pan out, end credits.)
Hori Shiit!
I need a good flash animator, I can't do this .........aaaaaahahahahahahahahahah. NOT FAIR, dude you suck for inspriing this....damn it .....do you know flash? Cause if so you better get to work!
Oh, and I totally agree, a boom bass is definatly what I was lacking.....still working on that though as I have to create the sound myself, I just don't like anything in the FL Studio premades. There isn't any that will fit. Of course, I could possibly just get away with some work on the mixer and add more bass to either the drums or bassline.
